Have you ever wondered how a microwave works? Observed a bug on the sidewalk and wondered what it was? Do you question the differences between a cactus and a pine tree, and what makes them both plants? If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, then you’ve embarked on a journey of scientific thinking and discovery!

STEM is truly all around us, and the questions we can ask ourselves and our kids about the world are quite simple:

What do you wonder?

What do you observe?

What is changing?

How are things similar, or different?

What are you thinking?

During our recent STEM Anywhere webinar, we put these questions to the test by analyzing different ordinary, natural phenomena. Whether baking cupcakes, building our own bridges, or even heating up dinner, we realized that these questions spur all kinds of exciting conversations for people young and old.

Want more? Watch STEM Anywhere here or download and print these questions to hang up in your house to use with your kids!
